Race: Livermore Criterium
Date: June 12, 2005

Category: Jr 17-18
Field: 20ish
Teammates: Lars, Charles, Julian, Gaelan, Adrian
Today's race was a tuff. I was too focused on the race and the tactics and forgot that you just need to ride your bike. Butt, I'm defiantly learning stuff and hopefully that will help with teaching me how to win a race.
So, anyway the race basically the race went down like this. After some attacks from a couple different teams. Daniel ( Lombardi Sports) and Matt (LGBRC) went on a brake. From this point on our team tried to pull in the group, but we weren't organized. We tried but the blocking from LGBRC and other people (for some odd freaking reason) kept use from getting organized. I realize know that we really should have gaped the group, but it doesn't really help you unless you do this during the race.
After a couple of heroic pulls by Lars, Charles, Julian, and myself we decided that we weren't doing anything and gave up. It was the wrong thing to do but, we were getting frustrated and we weren't catching any.
Now that the break was completely gone I decided to wait for the sprint for 3rd. On the last lap I got on the Daniel (Lombardi Sports), who had lapped us a couple of laps prior, and thought that he would give a good lead out. I turned out that there was a mess of people and I was out of position, but I shouldn't of let it come down to a sprint anyway.
So, it was not all that great of a race but I learned some stuff and that’s always good.
Appelation / Stockton Crit
April 9, 2005
Finish: 2th in the 17/18's
6th overall
Category: Junior 15/18's
Field: 30
Teammates: Lars, Nick, Charles, Rajiv, JP, Jordan, Ye, John, Navin
Had a ruff start, because I couldn't get clipped in. I sat in and didn't feel that great. In the end I beat Blake which was one of my main goals so that's good, maybe I'll still be able to do 24hrs of Adrenaline after all. Oh yeah, I also won a prime for coffee and 10 bucks. I'm not very motivated to write more so I guess that I'll just stop... Good job everyone...
Maclane Grand Prix (I mean tt)
March 5, 2005
Finish: 2nd
Category: Junior 15/16
Field: around 20
Teammates: Charles, Rajiv, Lars, Julian
This race was the first race on my most do well list. I used the tactics that I had heard Max used last year in some races. Go with every break and try and get off.
This worked I attacked from the start and had a good breakaway with a major motion rider. I had to do most of the pulling in this, so I knew it wasn’t going to stay off, but I wasn’t giving up. I knew that the more I worked the more that the other riders would have to work to catch me.
When I finally did get caught their were a couple of attacks from the Lombardi Sports team made a couple of attacks. These were covered by Charles and me. This is what happened until the final break.
Adam Switters attacked and I covered. When I finally looked back to see were the pack was, and we had a big gap. So we worked together and made it to the finish, with him trying to drop me a couple of times but I hung with him.
At the end Adam beat me to the finish, but that was ok. I still got second.
Good job everyone.
Cherry Pie Crit (aka Circuit Race)
Category 17-18
Result: 4th
Teammates: Charles, Julian, Rajiv, Lars, and lot others...
A TEAM WIN!!!!!
That¹s about all I need to say about this race.
It was a lot of fun, we had numbers on the other riders. This meant that we got to work on team tactics. This was good for us and in the end Charles went on a break and everyone else blocked and covered attacks for him.
Charles won and I came in third in the field sprint with Rajiv finishing right in front of me.
So good job to the whole team, and I hope that we can keep up the great work.
GO TIENI DURO!!!!!!!!!!
