I had to get to the course around 8:00 because my dad's start time was at 9:19.Once we got there I got on the trainer for a spin until Adam came. Then we registered and got back on the trainers. While I was on the trainer I drank a bottle of Hammer Perpetuem, which I think helped. At the start we knew that everybody else in the Juniors field were older than us, except for the San Jose guys.They were are main people that we wanted to try and beat. It turned out that the San Jose kids were our minute men, so that gave us good motivation to go harder. A couple miles after we started we passed the San Jose kids. On the flats before the first hill we tried to push as hard as we can to make more time on them. The first hill was pretty easy once we got into a good tempo. Our goal was to beat 56:40 because that was our previous time the week before. At the top of the first hill we only had about 14 mins to finish, so we thaught we couldn't do it. Once we got to the top of the second hill we pushed as hard as we could to get as much momentum as possible going up the last hill. The last hill didn't seem as bad as it did before, so we just spun up the hill and with the rest of the energy we had left went down as fast as we could to get to the finish. At the finish line came I passed Adam and we crossed the line at the same time.
