I first became interested in cycling after commuting by trailer cycle to elementary school. I started riding my bike up and down my block after school every day, and when I was tall enough to stoke a tandem, I began joining my dad on longer weekend rides with a local cycling club.
In 2009 I joined my high school mountain bike team, and after an unsuccessful first year of racing, I got a road bike and started road riding again over the summer to work on strength and endurance. My second season was fantastic, and I became interested in trying road racing. It only took one race for me to decide I loved it as much as mountain bike racing.
I joined Tieni Duro this July, and I've really enjoyed riding and racing with the team so far. I've learned a lot already, and my racing has definitely improved because of it. This year I want to work on descending, strength, and criterium racing.
